Alan Dixon represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 1981-1993. He previously served as Secretary of State of Illinois, as Treasurer of Illinois, in the Illinois State Senate, and in the Illinois State House of Representatives. He identified as a Democrat. He died in 2014.
