Armistead Selden, Jr. represented Alabama’s 5th Congressional District (previously the At-Large and 6th Congressional Districts) from 1953-1969. He previously served in the Alabama State House of Representatives. He identified as a Republican but identified as a Democrat before 1979. He died in 1985.
