George Aiken (R-VT)

George Aiken represented Vermont in the U.S. Senate from 1941-1975. He previously served as Governor of Vermont, as Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, in the Vermont State House of Representatives, and on the Putney School Board. He identified as a Republican. He died in 1984.
