Joe Schwarz represented Michigan’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2005-2007. He previously served in the Michigan State Senate, Mayor of Battle Creek, and Battle Creek City Commission. He identified as an Independent but served and identified as a Republican before 2010. He died in 2026.
