Sam Gibbons represented Florida’s 11th Congressional District (previously the 7th, 6th, and 10th Congressional Districts) from 1963-1997. He previously served in the Florida State Senate and in the Florida State House of Representatives. He identified as a Democrat. He died in 2012.
